One of the esteemed Russell Group members, Queen’s University Belfast, Northern Ireland, and Techno India University, West Bengal, have inked a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Queen’s University Belfast was established in 1845 and has a remarkable 180-year history of academic success. Queen’s University’s forthcoming state-of-the-art campus at GIFT City, Ahmedabad, will further deepen this historic cooperation, which is expected to significantly accelerate basic and applied research projects at Techno India University, West Bengal. Except for IIT Gandhinagar, this Memorandum of Understanding is the first of its kind between Queen’s University Belfast and any Indian university under the GIFT City project, setting a new standard for global academic collaboration.

The MoU was formally signed by Professor Manoshi Roy Chowdhury, Co-Chancellor of Techno India University and Co-Chairperson of Techno India Group. The signing ceremony was followed by a special felicitation at the residence of the British High Commissioner, Lindy Cameron CB OBE, in New Delhi.

The event was graced by eminent dignitaries, including Professor Richard Miles, Provost, and Professor Margaret Topping, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Queen’s University Belfast. Professor Goutam Sengupta, Rector of Techno India University, West Bengal.

Techno India University teachers and students will benefit greatly from this strategic partnership. It will make it easier for students to participate in cutting-edge, top-notch research partnerships and open doors for student exchange programs at Queen’s University Belfast’s GIFT City Campus, giving them exposure comparable to that of the Belfast campus.

Students at Techno India University will have practical experience in cutting-edge simulation labs, a field in which Queen’s University has accumulated extensive knowledge over many years. Through the recently formed relationship, Indian students in Ahmedabad will now have access to these facilities, greatly broadening their academic and research horizons.
