TV9 Bangla’s Nakshatra Samman 2nd Season Organized With Great Fanfare

The renowned TV9 Bangla Nakshatra Samman’s second season has honored those who have shed light on Bengal’s history both domestically and abroad. Under the direction of Barun Das, MD, TV9 Network, the elaborate ceremony, which was held recently in a five-star hotel in the city, was painstakingly organised and carried out.
Six gifted people who have achieved success in a variety of fields, including sports, theatre, medical research, historical studies, and humanitarian service, were honoured that evening. Additionally, Nakshatra Samman honored a group of unsung heroes—people who gave their time to help improve society.
The former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly received one of the most prestigious awards, known as the “Prothom Theke Prothome” (the First since beginning) award, in recognition of his exceptional accomplishment and leadership abilities.
Rudraprasad Sengupta, a seasoned theater personality, received the Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his significant contribution to Bengali theater.
Other notable individuals who received awards include Dr. Asima Mukherjee for her innovative work in cancer treatment; Bahata Anshumali for her outstanding work deciphering the script of the Sindhu civilisation; Subhashish Ganguly for his work directing plays starring actors with visual impairments; and Dr. Arup Roy for his tireless efforts to educate children from underprivileged backgrounds.
Furthermore, TV9 Bangla was proud to recognise remarkable people who have devoted their lives to charitable work:
- In Purulia’s untamed landscape, environmental activist and Padmashree recipient Dukhu Majhi fights environmental degradation by planting trees.
- Reba Murmu, who constructs schools for the impoverished kids in Bankura’s Santhal-dominated neighbourhoods.
- Young minds are inspired by Prabir Pal, a teacher with special needs.
- Saju Talukdar, who has constructed and provided homeless people with shelters.
TV9 Bangla Nakshatra Samman’s second season indeed honored eminent dignitaries.
