The ninth performance of Kolahal Theatre Workshop, “Kala Jaadu”, is an inclusive production that brings together young individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, and survivors of acid attacks. The drama, which celebrates equality, resiliency, and women’s empowerment, is inspired by the life of Rajasthan‘s Rudalis, professional female mourners who defy patriarchal conventions and caste operations.

The story, script, and concept are by Nigel Akkara.

The lighting will be handled by Soumen Chakraborty.

The sound is by Bandhan Mishra.

Ibrahim has done the makeup.

The set and art design is by Ambarish Das.

The script assistant is by Sarbani Ghosh Basu.

The project coordinator is Surajit Das.

The cast of the play consists of Sharanya Basu(protagonist), Kakoli Das, Kalpana Das, Monika Mondal, Priyanka Neogi, Sayantani Mukherjee, Priti Jana, Rima Mukherjee, Tanusree Chakraborty, Upasana Bar, Aryaa Banerjee, Satyanath Chakraborty, Arko Sen, Arijit Mitra, Kaushik Singha, Subharun Basu, and Sushil Das.
