Incense smoke, dhak music, and the anticipation of Durga Pujo, the biggest festival of them all, fill the air in Kolkata as autumn approaches. Bengalis believe this holiday would not be complete without the pleasure of a feast. The Holiday Inn Kolkata Airport has elevated the occasion this year by fashioning a stunning Durga idol from only the finest Belgian and Dark Chocolate.

Mr. Rishi Jain, MD, Holiday Inn Kolkata Airport & Mr. Shrayans Jain, Vice Chairman, Holiday Inn Kolkata Airport were present at the unveiling of the idol.

Children from Mukti Foundation NGO also graced the occasion.

In a spectacular fusion of two of Bengalis’ favorite indulgences, Holiday Inn Kolkata Airport unveiled a 12-foot-tall Chocolate Durga idol, weighing a mighty 80 kilograms, carved out of the finest Belgian and Dark Chocolate. This creation serves as a culinary tribute to the skilled Kumartuli potters, who have crafted the traditional clay idols with immense dedication and artistry for generations.

The creation of this Chocolate Durga masterpiece was a labor of love, as a dedicated team of three artisans, under the expert guidance of the Executive Chef at Holiday Inn Kolkata Airport, worked tirelessly for 15 days. They toiled for nine hours each day to meticulously shape every detail of this majestic idol.

This Chocolate Durga symbolizes harmony, celebration, and culinary pleasure.

The Chocolate Durga idol will be displayed till 25^th October 2023.
