“15th August Has An Amazing Twist At the End”- Chiranjit Ghoshal
After the trailer launch of the short film 15th August, a song from the movie was also released titled Kitni Bechain Hoke. The song is from the 2001-released film Kasoor.
The Kolkata Mail correspondent Priyanka Dutta caught up with the director Chiranjit Ghoshal and producer Urmila Sanyal in an exclusive conversation at the Royal Bengal Tiger Café.
The story of the film is about a girl who lives alone after her parent’s death. She is a bubbly character. She starts taking drugs after her parent’s death. Due to some events, she starts living with a boy. The boy is reserved and calm, just opposite in nature to her. She becomes attached to him. However, due to some incidents, she becomes calm. What actually happened? This is what the film is all about.
The cast of the film consists of Avirup Bhattacharjee, Snehashree Bakshi, Gautam Susmit, and others.
Director Chiranjit Ghoshal said “Avirup worked for the first time with Shivam and he is a dedicated and obedient actor. Snehashree is a young girl but she acted so maturely for her age. I didn’t expect that she would be performing so brilliantly at her age. It was a pleasure to direct both of them”.
The direction, story, and script is by Chiranjit Ghoshal.
First-time-producer Urmila Sanyal said “I had earlier worked as an actress in the director’s short film Tomake Chai. This time as a producer I have taken huge challenges and the pressure has been immense. We had thought of doing such a project in the future during the shoot of that short film. I am glad that this could be done”.
The director praised the producer and said that she is a progressive thinker. “She never disturbs or interrupts the work. Instead, she is very involved in the work and gives her input occasionally. I am thinking of casting her next in a psycho-thriller short film. It will be a great thing to have an actress-producer in the film”.
The cinematography is by Subham Chatterjee.
The music is by Royal Entertainment Production.
15th August is an endeavour of Shivam Enterprise.
The director said “I am extremely hopeful that the film will be well received. The film is like my child. Hence I am positive that it will perform well. Our story is unique. Normally, all love stories have a happy ending. But this one has an element of mystery at the end. That will be interesting for the audience”.
The film, 15th August is slated for release by the end of August.
