The 2025 National Kyorugi Seminar & Refresher Course, the first of its kind in West Bengal, was successfully held by the Taekwondo Association of West Bengal, under the auspices of INDIA Taekwondo, from June 9–12, 2025, marking a significant milestone in the state’s martial arts scene. Referees, coaches, and practitioners from all over the nation were among the 51 attendees of this nationally acclaimed seminar. The program’s objectives were to improve technical skill, uphold uniform officiating procedures, and bring Indian Taekwondo practitioners into compliance with the changing World Taekwondo (WT) rules.

Senior Master Amit Aggarwal, a renowned educator and a highly esteemed World Taekwondo International Referee (Class 1), led the rigorous course. With an emphasis on the most recent WT Kyorugi rules, electronic scoring systems, and match management procedures, he guided participants through in-depth theoretical sessions and practical demonstrations. His knowledgeable instruction was crucial in guaranteeing that participants acquired the important perspectives and useful abilities needed for competitions at the national and international levels.

The seminar was graced by Taekwondo Legend Grand Master Pradipta Kumar Roy, General Secretary of the Taekwondo Association of West Bengal and a revered figure in Indian Taekwondo, Sk. Habibur Rahaman, Chairman of the District Primary School Council (DPSC), Purba Medinipur & Co-Mentor of the Purba Medinipur Zila Parishad, Shri Kaushik Barik, President, Ramnagar 1 Block, Pioneer Taekwondo Personality Senior Master Ruma Roy Chowdhury, Shri Rajib Bera, President, Purba Medinipur Taekwondo Association &  Senior officials, local leaders, and members of the Taekwondo fraternity.

Their encouragement and support demonstrated how crucial it is for local government and sport organizations to work together to develop Taekwondo talent. In addition to demonstrating West Bengal’s increasing prominence as a center for Taekwondo excellence, the 2025 National Kyorugi Seminar & Refresher Course’s success solidifies the state’s place in the country’s Taekwondo ecosystem. The state continues to play a crucial role in forming the next generation of technically proficient and internationally competitive Taekwondo practitioners with programs like these.
