3 Day Arogya Fair Organized; Aim to Facilitate Ayush Way of Life
Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India and ASSOCHAM the apex chamber of the country with the support of the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of West Bengal organised a 3 day AROGYA FAIR, at Triangular Park, Gariahat, Kolkata. Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay, Honourable Minister in Charge, Department of Power & Non-Conventional Energy Sources, Government of West Bengal, Debasish Kumar, Member Mayor-in-council, Parks & Garden, Kolkata Municipal Corporation, SurojitSamanta, Chairman ASSOCHAM – Eastern Region Council and Taranjit Singh, Co Chairman –Eastern Region Council inaugurated the three day fair at Triangular Park, Gariahat.
The Comprehensive Health fair on Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy by Ministry of AYUSH, facilitated AYUSH way of life. West Bengal has huge resource of medicinal plants and people of the region have been traditionally using natural cures for various ailments. Homoeopathy is one of the most popular alternative medicines acceptable to the general public in region. Yoga has made inroad with multiple Yoga centres mushrooming in the city.
The highlight of the fair was Free Health Check Up, Free Select Medicine, and Free Yoga Advise for corporate executives, students, housewives with Free Interactive sessions on health care at the booths. There were display of medicines by medicinal companies from Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata and other regions of the country. Renowned doctors from Centre and State government pool along with officers were on duty providing necessary guidance.
The entry to the fair was free to public daily and more than twenty thousand people visited the fair during three days.
