45th International Kolkata Book Fair 2022 To Begin From 28th February
Due to the grave pandemic situation, the 45th International Kolkata Book Fair 2022, with the advice of Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee, has been rescheduled to be held from 28 February to 13 March 2022 at the Central Park Mela Ground, Karumamayee, Salt Lake. The inaugural ceremony will be held on 28 February 2022 at 3:30 pm.
The revised schedule of the 45th International Kolkata Book Fair 2022 has once again received the recognition from International Publishers Association, Geneva, and has been incorporated in the calendar of Book Fairs published by them.
18 more days are left before the inauguration of the second largest festival of Kolkata – the 45th International Kolkata Book Fair 2022.
A press conference was organized to announce these highlights of the upcoming 45th International Kolkata Book Fair 2022.
The Focal Theme Country of the 45th International Kolkata Book Fair will be Bangladesh. The International Kolkata Book Fair 2022 will celebrate the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the Golden Jubilee year of independence of Bangladesh.
Chief Guest Hon’ble Dr. Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury, Chief Coordinator, National Implementation Committee for the celebration of Birth Centenary of the Father of the Nation of Bangladesh Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Mr. Toufique Hasan, Hon’ble Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Kolkata also graced the press meet.
The Theme Country Bangladesh Day will be celebrated on 3 & 4 March 2022, while Children’s Day will be celebrated on 6 March 2022.
Participants from the different states of India will be present at the Book Fair. The International complex will see the presence of Britain, the USA, Russia, Italy, Japan, Iran, Spain, Argentina, Mexico, and other Latin American Countries.
The 8th Kolkata Literature Festival will be organized as a mixture of online and offline events on 11 and 12 March 2022.
All COVID protocols of the Government will be followed. No mask, no entry in the Fair will be followed strictly.
