45th International Kolkata Book Fair To Be Organized From 31st January Till 13th February
In the august presence of Tridib Kr Chatterjee, Sudhangshu Sekhar Dey, and others, a press meet was organized to announce details about the upcoming International Kolkata Book Fair.
After the pandemic is being improved, Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal, Madam Mamata Banerjee has declared that the 45th International Kolkata Book Fair will be inaugurated on 31 January 2022 and continue till 13 February 2022 at Central Park Mela Ground, Salt Lake.
The Focal Theme Country of the 45th International Kolkata Book Fair will be Bangladesh. The International Kolkata Book Fair 2022 will celebrate the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the Golden Jubilee year of independence of Bangladesh.
The 125th Birth year of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, the Birth Centenary of Great Master Satyajit Ray and the 75th year of Indian Independence will also be celebrated at the International Kolkata Book Fair 2022.
Renowned personalities like Soumitra Chatterjee, Pranab Mukherjee, Sankha Ghosh, Anisujjaman, Debesh Roy, Nimai Bhattacharya, Manabendra Bandyopadhyay, Alokeranjan Dasgupta, Swapan Mazumdar, Anish Deb, Sirsho Bandyopadhyay, Sounak Lahiri, Anjan Bandyopadhyay, Rajib Ghosh,
Buddhadeb Dasgupta, Buddhadeb Guha, Subrata Mukherjee, and our Members Samit Sarkar, Tapan Mukherjee, and Debasis Lahiri (Bubai) will be paid homage to at the International Kolkata Book Fair 2022.
The International complex will have usual participants from abroad and publishers from different states of India.
The added attraction of the International Kolkata Book Fair is the 8th Kolkata Literature Festival.
There are some special plans to maintain appropriate health protection and COVID protocol to organize the Fair in this neo-normal situation. The stalls will be open as far as possible. To maintain social distancing there will be ample open space and the stall size might be reduced.
Emphasis will be given on proper sanitization and the Double Vaccination certificate. The authorities are also planning to introduce Free E-passes for entry to the Book Fair.
The book lovers from abroad may not be able to come due to the pandemic. They can watch the fair virtually.
