Amritangshu Chakravarty is a Ph.D. student in Biochemistry at the University of Kansas in the USA and also a certified fitness professional from the USA. Amritangshu has a passion for filmmaking and started making short films in 2014. He ventured into the world of feature filmmaking with his debut feature film Choroibeti- A Journey.  The film recently premiered on IMDC Silverscreen.

Great use of technology

Many filmmakers are resorting to smartphones in today’s times to make films. And Amritangshu had taken this challenge to make his debut feature film. The film has been shot using two smartphones and three LED lights. However, as an audience, you will not find a great difference when you will watch the film.

Realistic story

The story of the film is about the struggles of a young man Subhamoy who hails from a middle-class family and wants to become an independent filmmaker. This is a realistic story and many among the audience can relate to the struggles and hardships that this young man has to endure to fulfill his long-cherished dream.

Stellar cast

The film boasts of a stellar cast consisting of eminent Bengali actor Barun Chanda, Samir Biswas, Madhuchhanda Ghosh, and Susmita Chakraborty. The protagonist’s roles have been taken care of by newcomers Tathagata Mukherjee, Suchanda Banerjee, and Sreyasi Chakraborty with Amritangshu himself making his acting debut in this film.

The short duration of the film

The film is 1 hour 45 minutes in duration. So you do not have to sit for a long time to watch what happens to Subhamoy and whether he is successful in fulfilling his dreams.

Music

Megh Banerjee (who has composed the background score for films like Zombiesthaan and Chhobiyal) has composed the background score and Shrayee Paul (a former contestant in SareGaMaPa) took care of the three songs relevant to the film.
