The 56th Garment Fair and B2B Expo was held over three days on July 1, 2, and 3, 2024, at Biswa Bangla (Milan Mela), Kolkata.

With their 58 years of industry experience, the West Bengal Garment Manufacturers and Dealers Association (WBGMDA) planned this event, which brought in a sizable amount of business. This 56th Garment Buyers & Sellers Meet & B2B Expo attracted 900 national and international firms, presented an extensive range of clothing, and generated an estimated Rs. 850-900 crore in commercial transactions at the wholesale market.

Chandrima Bhattacharya, Hon’ble Minister of Finance (Independent Charge), Govt. of WB, and Sujit Bose, Minister of State for Fire, Govt. of WB, inaugurated the expo.

Other notable figures who graced the occasion were Pradeep Kumar Nandy, Nirmal Jain, Biram Prakash Sultania, Manoj Gupta, Arun Somani, Binay Dubey, Ram Chandra Agarwal, Hari Kishan Rathi, President of WBGMDA, Vijay Kariwala, Senior Vice President of WBGMDA, Pradeep Murarka, Vice President of WBGMDA, Devendra Baid, Hony. Secretary of WBGMDA and many others.

Since its establishment, this group has organized B2B exhibits and clothing fairs to support the development of a contemporary, vibrant, and competitive apparel sector, largely made up of MSMEs, and to assist the country in becoming a significant center in the global textile supply chain. The non-retail event WBGMDA – Buyer Sellers Meet has grown to become a meeting place for the most reputable and well-known companies in the country’s east. This event creates a great deal of jobs, which boosts the GDP considerably as well.

It was a great expo that brought in amazing business for the buyers and the sellers.
