75th Year of Independence–Respectful Bestowal: Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose
On the occasion of 73rd Republic Day and to celebrate the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, The Bengal, in association with Shree Cement Limited, organized homage to the great freedom fighter through a virtual program on their Facebook page.
The program was titled “75th year of Independence – Respectful Bestowal: Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose”. The speakers for the evening were Sri Jawhar Sirkar, Subhaprasanna, Prof. Aveek Majumder. Chandrabali Rudra Dutta sang patriotic songs written by Rabindranath Tagore, Dwijendralal Ray, and Atul Prasad Sen. Sri Satinath Mukhopadhyay was the anchor of the program.
Jawhar Sarkar pointed out how Netaji had changed submarines in the middle of the Indian Ocean to reach Japan. He described it as dangerous. Seeing Netaji’s desperate bid to attain freedom, Congress had also initiated their drive of the freedom struggle with the Quit India Movement.
He also mentioned the Moirang INA Museum, where the flag of the Indian National Army was first unfurled on April 14, 1944. It also had a map that depicted Netaji’s footprints all over the world in his endeavor to free India.
Painter Subhaprasanna described India as one of the greatest countries in the world. Bengal is the forerunner to place India on the international map through many revolutionary characters. Netaji had the unique ability to unite everyone, irrespective of religion, caste, and creed and thus he had framed the “Jai Hind” as salutation, which reflected the country, above self.
Shubaprasanna also added that any tribute paid to eminent personalities like Raja Ram Mohan Roy, Swami Vivekananda, Rabindranath Tagore, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose will only be successful if we follow the path showed by them.
A great initiative indeed!!
