7th Edition Of Royal Bowling League Announced; First Tournament In IPL Format
In the august presence of Sanjay Lakhotia, Devrishi Singhal, and others, the 7th edition of the Royal Bowling League was announced. It will take place from 27th August to 24th September 2022 at the RCGC Maidan Tent, Kolkata.
This is a first-of-its-kind tournament following the IPL format. It was started in 2015. It is sponsored by Skill Kits Pvt Ltd.
“Bowling is the only game that can be played competitively by anyone irrespective of their age. Whether one is 18 or 80, anyone can take part in it. this is the beauty of the game. The sport has recently gained fame in India after the Indian team won two medals at the recently concluded Commonwealth Games” said Sanjay Lakhotia.
For popularizing bowling, RCGC Maidan Tent will be coming up with many ambitious projects. The Consular Bowls will be held later this year but could not be conducted earlier due to some issues.
The tournament format is as follows:
- Round Robin Format with 9 teams consisting of 108 players followed by knockouts. 40 women will be participating in the tournament.
- Triples Format. Each team will have three players per team.
- The top four teams will qualify for the main trophy and the next four teams will qualify for the Challengers Cup.
Tanushree Chakraborty is the event brand ambassador.
The winning team will receive a prize amount of Rs 2 lakh rupees. The total prize money at the tournament is Rs 4.75 lakh.
The prize distribution ceremony will be organized on 24th September, 7 pm onwards at RCGC Main Club.
