9th World Food Competition At GNIHM Concludes With A Bang


The 9th World Food Competition, which celebrated the height of culinary artistry worldwide was hosted by the Guru Nanak Institute of Hotel Management (GNIHM), a JIS Group Educational Initiative, and came to a spectacular end after three days. 160 chefs from 40 countries participated in the prestigious competition, which was held on the GNIHM campus. They competed in a variety of categories, such as the International Cake Icing Competition, International Fruit Carving Competition, International Mixocom Competition, and International Culinary Competition.
A distinguished panel of judges, including some of the most well-known figures in the culinary industry, graced the event. Famous international chefs Annanchai Suttision (Thailand) and Lesley Jacob (South Africa) joined Indian culinary heroes Sanjeev Kapoor, Kunal Kapur, Ajay Chopra, and Parvinder Singh Bali. Their knowledge and critical assessments raised the bar for the competition.

The three-day culinary extravaganza confirmed the competition’s position as a top international culinary event by showcasing incredible craftsmanship, inventiveness, and creativity. In addition to showcasing their technical expertise, participants adopted sustainable practices, underscoring the significance of moral and accountable methods in the food sector.
The best chef for the culinary competition was awarded to Borodina Viktoria, Russia.
The best cake icing chef was awarded to Nagoda Vithanage Rashmi Randika, Srilanka.
The best fruit carving chef was awarded to Santa Maya Lumbanreja, Indonesia and the best mixology chef was awarded to Yanish Bandhoo, Mauritius.

A lavish felicitation ceremony marked the end of the competition, recognizing the exceptional efforts of each competitor. The occasion strengthened Kolkata’s standing as a major center for culinary innovation and talent by promoting cross-cultural interactions and celebrating international flavors.
The 9th World Food Competition has certainly raised the bar for culinary excellence worldwide.
