In the august presence of director Pratim D Gupta, Ritwick Chakraborty and Paoli Dam, the trailer of the upcoming Bengali film Shantilal O Projapoti Rohoshyo was released recently.

The film is a detective thriller and revolves around a newspaper journalist named Shantilal. He evolves into a detective while pursuing a story about the top movie star Nandita. What happens next?

“This is my fourth film with Pratim and Ritwick. We have become a family now. It is always a pleasure to work with this team. Now that the trailer has released, I am excited as to how the audience will react after the movie releases” said Paoli Dam.

Pratim mentioned that this is a detective story but this is not based on a story from a book. This is a detective created by the director and he added that this will be a real treat for the Bengali audience who love to watch detective films.

The film is produced by Mr Sanjay Agarwal of Auroville Investments.

The songs are composed by Arko. “There are three songs in the film. These songs are completely different form the songs that I have earlier made. I was actually roped in to compose music for Maacher Jhol. But that didn’t happen. And now I got the chance to work with Pratim” said Arko.

Goutam Ghose, Chitrangada Chakraborty, Ambarish Bhatatcharya, Alokananda Roy and others will be seen in pivotal roles in the film.

Ritwick plays a good for nothing journalist who reports about the weather in a Kolkata based newspaper. “The audience will be getting a new detective on the block. This will be a welcome change for the audience” said Ritwick.

Subhankar Bhar is the cinematographer while Subhajit Sinha has done the editing of the film.

The film is eyeing for release on 15^th August.
