Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th Birth Anniversary Celebrated
Celebrating the 150th Birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, West Bengal Commission for Protection of Child Rights along with National Commission for Protection of Child Rights has started a month long journey with 1000 Children living in street situation across five different locations across West Bengal. The objective is to enable them to curate with Bapu’s philosophy, their own Swaraj, or Self Rule named as Bal Swaraj. At the Kutchina Center for Women Empowerment, 100 children from these five locations came together to kick start this journey.
The program began with key note addressed by Honorable Secretary of West Bengal Commission for Protection of Child Rights, Sudipta Chatterjee.
Chairperson of Kutchina Foundation, Mr. Namit Bajoria also graced the occasion.
The cultural program began with the children performing on various activities celebrating Gandhi Ji’s vision of India.
For the next more than one month journey they will be running these plays with their friends and peers in their respective locations to showcase practical learning of how in most participatory way they could curate Bal Swaraj in their areas.
