The trailer launch of the upcoming Bengali film Zombiesthaan took place in the presence of director Abhirup Ghosh, Tnusree Chakrobarty, Rajatava Dutta and others. The event took place at The Lords and Barons, Kolkata.

The film is a post-apocalyptic film set in the year 2030. An event called Black Day leads to the release of a mysterious bio-chemical weapon which infects a vast majority of the world population and have turned people into insane cannibals. The governments have fallen and the telecommunication systems are down. In these circumstances, a female survivor called Akira (Tnusree) is travelling through the wastelands of Bengal in search for a safe zone established by the military to protect the VVIP’s of the state. The film shows her journey and her numerous encounters with different survivors and dangerous zombies.

Speaking at the occasion, Tnusree said “I have always loved challenging roles and this character of Akira has been a great challenge. We shot at virgin locations and hence the press was not called for coverage. Since we had a budget crunch, we shot very quickly so that we could finish the film in time”.

Rajatava Dutta plays the role of Raja Horidas in the film. He is the owner of a private estate Horidas Nogor. He has established a kind of monarchy in the area and has developed a new world order where women are kept as sex slaves and barter system is used for trade among different communities.

“Abhirup may look like a shy director but when he is on the set, he knows what he wants. He will not say OK unless he finds the shot is OK” said Rajatava.

The film has been written and directed by Abhirup Ghosh. The music has been composed by Megh Banerjee and Aviraj Sen. The lyrics has been written by Soham Majumdar, Prantik Chakrobarty and Piya Chakrobarty.

The production house behind this film is Krishnaaa Motion Pictures. The producers of the film are Rajesh Kumar Pandey, Sandip Das, Ripa Jana and Bubai Das.

A cake mixing ceremony was organized at The Lords and Barons which was attended by the cast and crew of the film.

The film is eyeing for release on 13^th December.
