Sabarna Roy Chowdhury’s family is dedicated to the propagation of Hindustani Classical Music for the past four decades. They organized the fifth edition of Sabarna Sangeet Sammelan, 2019 this year which began from 22^nd December and continued till 24th December, 2019 at Borobarir Pujor Dalan, Barisha, Sakherbazar. The inauguration of the Sangeet Sammelan was presided by Shri Partha Chatterjee, Hon’ble Minister, Higher Education, Parliamentary Affairs & School Education, Government of West Bengal.

Sabarna Sangeet Sammelan, 2019 was a three-day musical event. The opening day witnessed performances by Sri Dhiman Chowdhury (Vocal) with accompanist Sri Debasish Singharoy (Tabla) & Sri Arpan Bhattacharya (Harmonium), Pandit Tarun Bhattacharya (Santoor) with accompanist Sri Kaushik Sen (Tabla), Duet of Pandit Kumar Bose (Tabla) & Sri Kunal Patil (Pakhawaj) with accompanist Sri Pankaj Mishra (Sarangi) & Sri Subrata Bhattacharya (Harmonium).

This year’s Sammelan also saw a galaxy of eminent musicians that include Sri Indradip Ghosh (Behala) with accompanist Sri Ujjal Bharati (Tabla), Smt Anjana Kushari with accompanist Sri Ujjal Bharati (Tabla) & Sri Debashis Adhikary (Harmonium), Sri Indraudh Majumdar (Sarod) with accompanist Sri Debjit Patitundi (Tabla) on the second day & Smt Darshana Dutta (Vocal) with accompanist Sri Ujjal Bharati (Tabla), Sri Saptarshi Hajra (Sitar) with accompanist Sri Subhajyoti Guha (Tabla), Smt Joyeta Chowdhury (Vocal) with accompanist Sri Subhajyoti Guha (Tabla) & Sri Anirban Chakraborty (Harmonium), Ken Zuckerman (Sarod) with accompanist Sri Rupak Bhattacharya (Tabla) on the concluding day.
