Director Sanjoy Nag’s film Yours Truly was screened at the 24th Kolkata International Film Festival 2018. A press conference was organized prior to the special screening of the film and this was attended by the director, Soni Razdan, Alia Bhatt, Mahesh Bhatt and others.

The story involves around a fifty seven year old government employee Mithi Kumar (Soni Razdan) who will be soon be retiring from her boring office job. She finds out that she will be missing something from her daily commute. It is the voice of the station announcer with whom she feels a very deep connection. She had conjured up images about him and even written letters to him. As her retirement comes closer, she begins to search for the person. Will she meet him? Is he real?

Speaking at the event, Soni Razdan said “I am glad I got a lead role at my age. Thanks Sanjoy for that!! I have lived alone for some time and I enjoy my loneliness. So I could understand the character and it was fun playing it on the big screen”.

For Alia Bhatt, it was a great moment to see her parents both in the same film. “I am happy that the director did not kill my mother half way through the film. This always happened in my father’s films where she was killed half-way in the film. I have seen him mainly direct her in films. This is a surreal experience to watch them work together” said the actress.

She also added that if the three of them were cast in a film, the shooting will be a blast as the three of them are very passionate about their work.

Alia also said “My mother mainly accompanies to events where my film is releasing and she is my family. But this time, her film is releasing and I am the family. This is a first as I get to attend the press conference of my mother’s film”.

The actress who is fond of Kolkata mentioned how she loved the food and culture of the city. “I have to keep my weight in check so I did not eat the Sandesh this time. But I consumed a huge portion of fish cooked in mustard sauce, vegetable preparations and others” said the actress with a smile.

The film is produced by Shiladitya Bora and the music is by Debajyoti Mishra, Rudraneel Chaudhary and Madhubanti Bagchi.
