Bengali film Daaye directed by Jyotirmay Deb was screened at 26th Kolkata International Film Festival. The director, singer Tirtha Biswas, Debranjan Nag, Joysankar, and others graced the press meet of the film.

The story of the film is based on a story written by Munshi Premchand. The film shows the life of a father and a son. With Daaye, the director shows the lives of the subaltern people in our country.

The music of the film is by Joysankar and Jyotirmay Deb. There are two songs in the film and there is no background music in the film. Ambiance sounds have been used in Daaye.

The cast of the film consists of Debranjan Nag, Pradeep Bhattacharya, Koyel Dey, and Amit Naskar.

The screenplay writer of the film is Jyotirmay Deb. Jayanta Maity is the producer of the film.

The film has been shot in Murshidabad and Purulia. The director was helped by his friend Nurul Hasan who lives in Murshidabad for the shooting in this place.

The makers are planning to release the film on OTT and they are not much interested in a theatrical release of the film.
