Satirical Musical Film BKC Out Now; Highlights Bengali Kankra Culture

Gopal Krishna Gokhale once said that what Bengal thinks today, India thinks tomorrow. The quote has lost its shine over the century.

The ongoing election poll manifestos promise everything but achievement orientation. Subsidies and freebies are promised by politicians for the Bengalis to ensure that they can make PNPC and Kathi deoa, full-time work and topple anyone trying to reverse the trend.

The non-aspirational Bengali loves this and sings Bella Ciao (Good Bye Beautiful).  BKC is a satirical musical film on the Bengali Kankra Culture. Directed by Taposhi Roy, it has been sung by actor-singer Kharaj Mukerjee.

The cast of BKC consists of Kharaj Mukherjee,  Sreelekha Mitra, Sayantani Guhathakurta, Ashoke Vishwanathan, Honey Bafna, and Udita Learning’s students.

The concept and script are by Alekhya Talapatra/Amit Biswas. The music direction is by Biswabijoy Sen. The lyrics have been penned down by Souvik De.
