With the boom in digitalization, there has been an increase in the consumption of online content. This has further increased during the ongoing global pandemic. Aakash Aath announced the launch of its own OTT streaming platform named Platform8.

Platform8 will showcase Bengali movies, short films, original TV shows, series, music shows, crime series, and many others. This is a freemium subscription-based model and has 400 hours of video content for patrons. New content will also be added at regular intervals to update the content library and offer more to the viewers.

The Platform8 is from the house of Aakash Aath and Channel Eight.

The interface is user-friendly and the smart navigation and fast streaming will enhance the viewing experience of the audience.

Advertisements often disrupt the content viewing experience. This OTT platform is free from advertisements. There are multiple screen options available. This is pocket-friendly as you pay for one while many of you can enjoy the content at the same time.

This app is compatible with devices like desktops, mobile phones, tablets, laptops, and so on. It also supports different operating systems like Android, iOS, and Amazon Fire Stick.

The first content that will be streamed on this OTT platform is the short film Payesh. It is the story of Paromita who is a girl living in Kolkata. She gets married to a small-town man named Aniruddha. The film shows a day’s events of Paromita’s Boubhaat which is also on her birthday. She prepares Payesh for her in-laws and things take an interesting turn.

Rajnandini Paul, Neil Chatterjee, Senjuti Mukherjee, Tapati Munshi, and others will be seen in Payesh. The director of the short film is Paromita Bhattacharya and Durnibar Saha has lent his voice to the songs in the film.

The app will be readily available on the App Store and the Google Play Store.
