The teaser and music launch of the upcoming web series of Klikk titled Gangulys Wed Guhas took place recently in the presence of the cast and crew of the film.

The story is about the Ganguly and the Guha families. The Gangulys live in Nilmoni Mitra Lane as a joint family. The Guhas on the other hand live in Ballygunje. Both the families are different from one another. The Guhas are artistically inclined and everyone in the family can sing Rabindra Sangeet or dance Kathak and also attend plays at Tolly club over wine and cheese.

The Gangulys is the typical North Kolkata joint family household who pride themselves on antique furniture and their connection with the royal family of Cooch-Behar.  Their family is full of doctors, engineers, and hence they have a sense of intellectual superiority.

Despite their differences, the two families get connected with each other as their youngest family members fall in love with each other and want to get married. The web series showcases the big-fat Bengali wedding.

The cast of the web series consists of Amrita Chatterjee as Modhura, Samadarshi Dutta as Pranay, Sudipa Basu as Snigdha, Subhrajit Dutta as Subimal, Saumya Sengupta as Brindaban, Shoumo Banerjee as Antarikkho, Rana Basu Thakur as Pallab, and others.

Subhrajit Dutta praised Samadarshi as a director. “When I first started acting in the series, I understood that he has studied film making before turning a director. I play the son-in-law in the series Subimal. He dislikes the chaos around the marriage. He is attending the marriage due to his wife” said the actor.

This web series marks the debut of actor Samadarshi Dutta as a director on the digital platform. He has also acted in this web series.

“Any work is challenging. I am scared now as to how the audience will react to my making. However, one thing I can say is that all the family members can sit together and watch the series. This is quite a big thing as the web series in recent times often have to be watched by family members sitting alone. We have tried our best to make a great web series” said Samadarshi.

Amrita will be seen in the role of Modhura. She is an app developer by profession and a very headstrong girl. Modhura loves her family very much. She is the bride in the web series. The actress said that the audience will love to watch this series as it will give them the feel of a Bengali wedding.

Shoumo Banerjee will be seen in the role of a heart specialist. He is not the typical doctor. He is just the boy next door. The actor said that the web series is a fun series and the audience will surely love the banter between the two families.

“Pallab is a comic relief in the series. He is a food lover. He enters with food in his hand whenever there is tension going on in the series. This is a different web series that can be watched with all the family members together” said Rana Basu Thakur.

The series consists of seven episodes. There are three songs in the web series. The music has been composed by Sraban Bhattacharya. Ujjaini, Sraban, Amrita Chatterjee, Soumya Murshidabadi have lent their voices to the songs in the series.

This is the 11^th web series of Klikk.

The series will begin streaming from 20^th September only on Klikk.
