Despite the rise in popularity of the other genres of music, Ghazals have an audience of their own. Ghazals have again made their comeback with freshness. Dr. Susmita Datta, a Professor of Biostatistics and a pre-eminent scholar at the University of Florida, USA launched her modern Ghazal album titled, ‘Nostalgia’ with the first song, ‘Aap Mere Khayalon Mein’ on her official YouTube channel.

This is a first-of-its-kind album and is a unique Indo-US collaboration. The song has been arranged and mixed in India and the video, audio recording and final processing of the video have been done by a dedicated crew in the US.

All the songs of the album will be released as individual music videos from her YouTube channel and would also be available on all leading audio streaming platforms.

The second song ‘Tum Chhupa Lo Mere Sanam’ has also been released recently and is getting positive feedback on the channel. The last song awaiting release is ‘Chaaho toh karo koshish’.

All the songs have been composed by Rajorshi Seal. However, the songs have been written by different poets.

Dr. Susmita Datta said that there are more projects in the pipeline and they will be released one after the other from her channel.

The video has already reached more than fifty thousand views and received positive comments from the audience.
