Pandit Ravi Kichlu Foundation is among the few organizations in India that are engaged in the promotion of classical music talents and preserving the musical heritage for future generations.

The Rotary Club of Calcutta in association with Hyatt Regency organized the annual fundraiser event Yaadein 2022 in the discipline of classical music and Gaurav Vocational Awards.

Five eminent personalities namely Ajoy Chakraborty, Usha Uthup, PC Sarkar Jr, Subhashree Ganguly, and Shaheb Chatterjee were honored with the Gaurav Vocational Awards.

Speaking at the event, Subhashree Ganguly said “It is indeed an honor for me to stand on the same platform as these eminent personalities. The fact that Ajoy Chakraborty said that I am like his daughter is a big compliment for me. I am glad to have received this honor”.

Looking beautiful in a golden and red sari, Usha Uthup thanked the organizers for honoring her with the Gaurav Vocational Awards.

Five unsung warriors from different backgrounds were also recipients of this honor. They were Pradipto Ghoshal for Aquatic Disaster Management, Basabi Chatterjee for providing shelter to injured stray animals and orphaned children, Saibal Guha for improving the lives of underprivileged and specially-abled children, Pradeep Maity for feeding the needy, and Ranjita Sinha for her work for the transgender community.

A Jugalbandi by flutist Rakesh Chaurasia and Purbayan Chatterjee on sitar kept the audience hooked. Shubh Maharaj accompanied them on tabla.

A Kathak dance performance by Vishal Krishna, grandson of Late Sitara Devi was accompanied by Shubh Maharaj on tabla and Prateep Banerjee on vocal, and Sandeep Niogi on sitar.
