Director Atanu Bose is credited with making films like Black Coffee, Atwaja, Biplab Aaj o Kaal. The director completed his dream project recently. This is a film on the life of the legendary Bengali actor Uttam Kumar titled Achena Uttam.

The release date announcement of the film took place recently in the presence of the cast and crew of the film.

The movie will showcase the life of Uttam Kumar. It will begin straight from childhood, show the ups and downs of the star’s life and also throw light on many unknown facets of his life.

Saswata Chatterjee plays Mahanayak Uttam Kumar, and Tirtharaj Bose plays the young Uttam Kumar. The characters played by the other actors in the film are mentioned below.

Kolkata and North Bengal play pivotal characters in the movie.

Playing difficult characters, according to Saswata Chattopadhyay, is always a challenge. However, portraying Uttam Kumar on the big screen is extremely difficult, and no amount of preparation will suffice.

The research and development have been done by Sibasish Bandhyopadhyay, the cinematography is being handled by Supriyo Dutta. The music is being composed, and recreated by Upali.

The movie is being produced by Alaknanda Arts & Shank Entertainment.

The announcement was followed by a gala musical evening celebrating the evergreen songs from Uttam Kumar’s timeless filmography. Singers Raghav Chattopadhyay, Sreeradha Banhopadhyay, Madhuri Dey, Trisha Parui, Debarati Dasgupta Sarkar, Arfin Rana, Aritra Dasgupta, and Chirantan Banerjee graced the occasion.

The film will release on 24^th June.
