Mount Everest has always fascinated mountaineers and the common people alike. The majestic mountain attracts many mountaineers every year. Many of them fail while many succeed in climbing to the top of the mountain.

Director Debaditya Bandyopadhyay’s film Mission Everest is an upcoming Bengali film that draws inspiration from the Everest expedition of Sunita Hazra.

The story of the film begins with a group of mountain enthusiastic individuals. The group of seven begin their journey to reach the top of the mountain. The group consists of young members but also has a Phuchka seller. He has saved every penny to go on this expedition.

The group also has a housewife who has tried to go on the expedition twice before but has failed. Suchandra Hazra (cinematic name of Sunita Hazra) is the name of the housewife. The story shows the struggle of the seven team members and their struggles to reach the top of Everest.

Sunita Hazra was thought to be dead in 2016 during the expedition. However, she survived due to the help she received from Leslie Binns of the UK who sacrificed his life to save her.

This is the story of an amazing and thrilling Everest expedition. It is the first of its kind to be told in Bengali cinema.

Chandreyee Ghosh will be seen in the role of Suchandra Hazra in the film.

The music is by Vijay Verma. Rana Majumdar and Prasen have composed the lyrics for the songs in the film.

The film is a joint production of Camellia Productions Pvt Ltd and Creative Liberty.
