Musical Jukebox Phire Paowa To Bring Back Legacy Of Bengali Pujor Gaan
Pujor Gaan makes every Bengali nostalgic. There was a time when Pujor Gaan was a must during the Durga Pujas. But somehow this trend has lost its luster. To bring back the lost legacy and glory of Pujor Gaan, music director dup Shiladitya and Raj have come up with a musical jukebox named Phire Paowa.
The launch of Phire Paowa was graced by Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty, Ustad Rashid Khan, Shiladitya-Raj, Apeksha Lahiri, Director, Asha Audio Company, Arijit Maitra, General Secretary, Samaj Sebi Sangha, Sambaran Banerjee, and Ketan Sengupta, CEO, Bengal Peerless.
The musical jukebox consists of three songs. Jodi Kokhono Harai has been sung by Kumar Sanu and written by Utpal Das. Ajana Oyi Du Chokhe has been sung by Alka Yagnik and penned down by Soham Majumdar. The third song Eshe Gechhi Eyi Aami has been sung by Amit Kumar and penned down by Priyo Chattopadhyay.
“We have been composing music for the last 25 years and we have numerous times with Kumar Sanu and Amit Kumar. This is our first work with Alka Yagnik and she is a fabulous artist. With these songs, we have tried to revive the lost melody that was found in the songs made in the 80s and 90s” said Shiladitya.
The songs were recorded at studio Pancham in Mumbai.
Phire Paowa is produced by Asha Audio.
The musical jukebox is presented by Avidipta II and initiated by Samaj Sebi Sangha.
The songs of Phire Paowa will be easily available across all major digital platforms.
