The “Not so Serious” line by Pallavi Mohan is renowned for its elegant, feminine formal clothing that can transform a woman into a glimmering diva. Pallavi presented slinky gowns for her “Life is Beautiful” at Lakmé Fashion Week in association with FDCI. The display would have made Cinderella envious when she danced at the ball.

With sheer robes that were decorated with feathers, strappy floor-kissing evening apparel looked enticing. A fashionable addition to the nighttime creations was glittering small capes that were once more bordered with feathers. For elaborate maxis, necklines dipped dangerously low, almost brushing the navel, while for lavishly embellished formal dresses, cut-outs appeared at the waist. On the runway, dramatic dresses with a tinge of Grecian influence appeared majestic. The creation’s highlight was its sexy contoured fits, which looked flowing. The ‘A-line, as well as ultra-feminine capes and capelets, were occasionally accessorized with boas.

Steel grey was used in spectacular fashion, moving from powder blue, blush, sage green, and then onto navy blue and the traditional ivory.

Richly textured fabrics that draped wonderfully for the ensembles that were accentuated with well-applied embellishments in complicated designs worked effectively for the collection. Some of the opulent options included a range of fluid metallic Satins, tulle, and jacquards, as well as metallic faux leather that had been laser cut. Hemlines remained at floor level, but occasionally they were uneven or raised to reveal attractive legs. The ensemble’s detailing was crucial, as laser cut appliqués highlighted the designs and jewel tones.

The charming, lissome Diana Penty brought the performance to a spectacular conclusion as she floated in ivory, backless gown with cleverly placed cutouts around the waist.

A topic that was a tribute to the idea that “Life is Beautiful” with all of its vibrancy and color was the focus of Pallavi Mohan’s “Not so Serious.” The items in the collection communicated in a glitzy language that guaranteed the customer would always and everywhere receive compliments in abundance.
