SSP Chowrasia Invitational Announced To Honor Golfing Legend SSP Chowrasia
TAKE Sports and the TATA Steel Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) launched the SSP Chowrasia Invitational presented by TAKE. This initiative was undertaken to honor Indian golfing legend SSP Chowrasia.
A press meet was organized to announce this initiative. It was graced by SSP Chowrasia, U. S. Mundy, CEO-PGTI, Rohan Ghosh, Captain, RCGC, Srinivasan HR, Director, TAKE Solutions and Joint President, PGTI and Manu Gandas.
This is the second event named after an Indian golf legend. SSP Chowrasia is the second professional Indian golfer after Jeev Milkha Singh to have a PGTI event named in his honor.
The tournament will be organized at the home course of SSP Chowrasia, the much-known Royal Calcutta Golf Club (RCGC). It will take place from 14th to 17th December 2022 and the prize amount is Rs 1 crore.
The tournament will feature 126 professionals.
Some of the well-known golfers participating include SSP Chowrasia, Anirban Lahiri, Gaganjeet Bhullar, Rashid Khan, Ajeetesh Sandhu, Udayan Mane, Yuvraj Singh Sandhu, and Manu Gandas.
Some foreign golfers who will be part of this tournament include Mithun Perera, N Thangaraja, Anura Rohana, Jamal Hossain, Badal Hossain, Sukra Bahadur Rai, and Md Akbar Hossain.
With the help of initiatives of this kind, RCGC wants to continue to produce more champion golfers who will make the country proud with their achievements.
