As the principal photography of Ram Kamal Mukherjee‘s magnum opus film BINODIINI-Ekti Natir Upakhyan came to an end, it also marked the beginning of a genius writer turned celluloid filmmaker.

The part that every top Bollywood actress has always wanted to play, is based on the life and rise of the ultimate “Abhadramahila” or “Fallen Lady” who aspired to be a theatre star!

Produced by Dev Adhikari from Dev Entertainment Ventures and Prateek Chakraborty from Pramod Films in association with Assorted Motion Pictures, the film features an ensemble of talented actors from Bengal and Mumbai.

The crew deserved an epic climax after months of casting, filming, and dealing with the pandemic’s challenges and tribulations, which they got. Dev Adhikari, the movie’s producer, called Ram Kamal and suggested that they have a party to honor the cast and crew’s hard work. The crew had recently recovered from a viral attack and had resumed filming, so Ram was initially wary. However, the exceptionally high level of team spirit and dedication by everyone was simply too contagious, and the call for the wrap-up celebration was on!

The cast and crew let their hair down and partied hard till daybreak as the production staff laid up the red carpet and planned the wrap-up celebration. The friendship fostered was simply too contagious, filled with amazing vigor and positive sentiments. To commemorate this important event, they ordered a cake.

Once the celebration came to an end, Ram Kamal said, “Dev called me up and said we should rejoice since the entire team needed to unwind following a demanding filming schedule and the steadfastness with which everyone joined in. That’s what we did, and how! So, yeah, Kamaleswar Mukherjee, Dev, Birsa Dasgupta, Sudipta Chakrabarty, and the rest of the team partied until the early hours of the morning. A lot of fun we had at the gathering”.

The actress who plays Binodini Dasi, Rukmini Maitra, said, “I have been preparing for this character for the past year. I declined roles in Bengali and Bollywood films alike because I wanted to give this famous character everything I had. Ram Kamal is such a sensitive and imaginative filmmaker”.

Ram Kamal reflected on how the most recent schedule was incredibly emotionally taxing because of the viral attack on the crew, which forced them to halt filming for a week. They finished the shoot despite having a very high level of team spirit.

“Rukmini’s passion was so monstrous. Although she had a fever, she was able to shoot the bathing scene of Binodini at the Dakshineswar ghat in the early morning. She had only just recovered when she fired the shot, but it was still outstanding. Prittam Choudhuryy and his production crew deserve all the credit for making it happen. DOP Soumik Halder, Art Director Tanmoyy Chakraborty, Editor Pronoy Dasgupta, and Costume Designer Suchishmita Dasgupta all went above and beyond to make it happen. Also, the music created by Sourendra and Soumyajit elevated Binodini to a new level” said the director.
