Ghasjomi Trailer Launched; Wins 100+ Awards At Film Festivals
The trailer launch of the upcoming Bengali film Ghasjomi took place in the presence of the cast and crew of the film.
Ghasjomi revolves around Borna. She is a 24-year-old smart, intelligent girl. She is doing research on Social Anthropology. The topic of her research is the city, Bengalis, and housewives. She goes to a housewife Ipshita’s house to take an interview. Ipshita is about 20 years older than Borna. Ipshita is a shy woman who is not accustomed to giving interviews. However, in the course of the interview, the differences between the two gradually lessen. They develop a friendship. How this friendship affects their lives is what the film is all about.
The cast of the film consists of Sanjita, Suvosmita Mukherjee, Sawon Chakroborty, Debashish Chatterjee, and Aarshi Roy.
Speaking at the event, Suvosmita Mukherjee said “When I acted in this film, I had no acting experience. Though I am not an experienced actress now, but I have basic knowledge. However, my director and I agree on one thing. There were some scenes that I could enact in that way as I had no prior work experience. Those scenes could not be enacted in that way now”.
The director of the film is Sumantra Roy.
The production house is Mosaic In Films and the producer Priyanka More is a National Award winner.
The music has been composed by Santajit Chatterjee. Shruti Ghosh and Susmita Sinha have lent their voices to the songs in the film.
The film has won more than 100 awards at different film festivals.
Some of the film festivals in which they won include the Jaisalmer International Film Festival – Best Debut Filmmaker – Outstanding Achievement Award, Madras Independent Film Festival – Special Mention Award, Royal Society of Television & Motion Picture Award – Best Narrative Feature – Critic’s Choice Award, Black Swan International Film Festival – Best Narrative Feature Film Award, Athvikvaruni International Film Festival – Best Indian Feature Film Award, Tamizhagam International Film Festival – Best Debut Feature Film Award, Knight of the Reel International Film Festival – Best Feature Film on Women Award and many more.
Ghasjomi is eyeing for release in May.
