“I Followed The Director’s Advice For Creating Datta’s Music”- Joy Sarkar
Nirmal Chakravarty’s Datta will release this Friday. The music launch of this much-awaited film took place recently in the presence of the cast and crew of the film.
The film is based on eminent Bengali writer Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s novel of the same name.
Datta is among one of the masterpieces of Bengali literature. This is a romantic tale that takes its inspiration from the Victorian ideology of romantic love.
Data had created ripples since its announcement. However, the shooting got delayed due to many issues. Now that the film is releasing, the director was extremely happy and also nervous.
Rituparna Sengupta, Shaheb Chattopadhyay, Joy Sengupta, Devlina Kumar, and Biswajit Chakraborty will be seen in pivotal roles in the film.
Speaking at the event, Rituparna Sengupta said “When I was offered the role of Bijoya, I had to read the novel again. It is when I read it again that I understood that she was a lady who was more progressive than her times. I am glad Nirmal da thought of me. The film is finally releasing on 16th June and I am looking forward to seeing how the audience reacts to it”.
Joy Sarkar is the music director of the film. There are four songs in the film. Three out of them are Rabindrasangeet. Babul Supriyo, Aditi Gupta, Riddhi Bandopadhyay, and others have sung the songs in the film.
While speaking about the music of the film, the music director added that the director wanted the music to showcase the time that the novel was set in. Hence he kept that in mind while creating the music of the film.
Chaiti Ghoshal, Sujoy Prosad Chatterjee, Amartya Ray, Indrasis Acharya, and many other guests also graced the music launch and extended their support for this amazing film.
The film Datta will release on 16th June.
