Orchids The International School- 1st School To Celebrate Rathyatra
Orchids The International School, a well-known K–12 school network in India, successfully held the first-ever Rath Yatra celebration in Kolkata. The construction of a huge rath (chariot) by first and second-grade students represented an impressive display of imagination, cooperation, and cultural understanding.
The young children at Orchids The International School took on the challenge of building the rath themselves as a part of their DIY (Do-it-yourself) curriculum in a magnificent demonstration of artistic talent and resourcefulness. Students had four days to work on this interesting project that allowed them to use their imaginations and learn useful skills in order to get ready for the big celebration.
On June 28, ecstatic kids pushed the skillfully constructed rath through the school’s hallways and playground. As the rath traveled across the school grounds, demonstrating the rich cultural legacy of our nation, thunderous cheers, and joy filled the air. The occasion demonstrated the school’s dedication to giving students a well-rounded education that encourages both academic performance and a profound understanding and appreciation of various cultures.
Sharmili Shah, Principal at Orchids The International School is of the opinion that such occasions are essential for instilling cultural values in children and motivating them to value and respect our nation’s rich cultural history. These exercises support the development of cultural awareness and build a positive learning environment for the pupils.
A great initiative indeed!!
