Regional Apprentice Day To Help Students Find More Jobs
The Board of Practical Training (Eastern Region) BOPT(ER), Kolkata, an organization under the Ministry of Education, Government of India celebrated the Regional Apprentice Day in Kolkata.
More than 2 Lakh apprenticeship training facilities are now available in various businesses and enterprises throughout Eastern India, according to BOPT(ER), Kolkata.
Prof. V.K. Tewari, Director, IIT Kharagpur, Dr. Savita Sengar, VC, Jharkhand Rai University, and Shri S. M. Ejaz Ahmed, Director, Board of Practical Training (Eastern Region), Kolkata were present on the occasion.
In his virtual address, Mr. Achint Kumar, Under Secretary, Ministry of Education, Government of India, praised the efforts of BOPT(ER) for energizing students and giving thousands of students training and employment prospects under the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS). It is anticipated that 1.2 lakh graduates will enroll in this program for the current fiscal year, for which the Government of India has set aside more than 120 crores for the payment of stipends to trainees.
43590 fresh graduates and diploma engineers are undergoing apprenticeship training in eastern regional States.
Through its various programs, including the Regional Apprenticeship Day celebration, BOPT(ER) hopes to encourage diploma and graduate engineers to step forward and sharpen their skills in order to satisfy market demand and increase their employability. After completing their training, it has been seen that more than 92% of these apprentices are either hired by the same industry or get jobs in different organizations.
BOPT(ER) is extending services by conducting of Apprenticeship-cum-Job Mela throughout the year.
The Regional Apprenticeship Day project aims to assist as many students as possible in finding productive jobs during this period of significant unemployment.
