Alpoy Golpo is a short film show that is being organized every alternate Monday at The Eye Within Club. The main aim of organizing this short film show is to promote new and talented short film makers. This has been organized since 2017.

Two short films namely Shabuj Chasma and Written By? Starring Sabyasachi Chakraborty was screened at the event. This was part of Sabyasachi Chakraborty Evening which was held at the event.

The story of “Written By?” raises the question that who is the author of the story- the writer who is writing the story or the person who is experiencing the story? Sabyasachi Chakraborty plays the role of the best selling writer.

The film Shabuj Chasma is based on a story by Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay. A professor discovers a green stone. He makes a lens out of it and ultimately makes a green glass specs out of it. He claims that one can see ghosts with the help of it. No one believes it and declares him to be mad. What happens next?

Sabyasachi Chakraborty said “I have been doing less work these days. But the stories appealed to me and hence I decided to work on these short films. There is a growing popularity of short films and with the help of such screenings, these films will get an audience and the film makers will get their due recognition”.

We also hope that such initiatives continue in the future so that new talents are discovered.
