The premiere of Bengali film Kusumitar Goppo took place recently in the presence of the cast and crew of the film.

The story is based on a real life story of a woman footballer.

Directed by Hrishikesh Mondol, this is the first time a Bengali film has been made on a woman footballer.

Soumitra Chatterjee plays a senior sports journalist, who helps Kusumita during her struggling days. Veteran actress Madhabi Mukhopadhyay will be seen as Soumitra’s on-screen wife. Former Mohun Bagan captain Shilton Paul will be seen playing himself in the film.

The film is running at different single screens and multiplexes in the city.
