Together with the Responsible Charity, a well-known city-based NGO, Holiday Inn Kolkata Airport launched a touching project wherein the less fortunate kids began their Christmas festivities by unveiling a Sustainable Christmas Tree.

The eight-foot-tall “Sustainable Christmas Tree” was painstakingly built from recycled wood in an environmentally conscious attempt to reduce the substantial amount of waste produced over the holiday season. With great care and attention to detail, every item in the amazing “Tree of Life” is uniquely added by the staff at Holiday Inn Kolkata Airport.

“This year, in keeping with our sustainable development goals, we have curated our Christmas tree, using wood that is typically discarded and goes to waste. We have always been focused on how we can give back to the society. We were confident that the best way to do justice to this initiative would be to celebrate this joyous day and mark the beginning of Christmas by celebrating with children for whom the necessities of life are sometimes a challenge” said Soumyadeep Bhattacharya, Operations Manager, Holiday Inn Kolkata Airport.

Along with the hotel’s prominent patrons, these kids from Responsible Charity unveiled and illuminated this tree. The crowd was mesmerized by the children as they performed a variety of beautiful carols for them.
