Merging Dreams- An Exhibition Showcasing New Media Art Forms
Several captivating new paintings and mixed media installations were unveiled at the exhibition Merging Dreams, at Indian Museum in Kolkata. The beautiful pieces were created by renowned artist Mrs. Kalpana Shah.
Viewers may expect to be enthralled by its richness, elegance, and provocative symbolism.
“Merging Dreams” takes viewers on an enlightening and contemplative trip, gleaning inspiration from the fleeting essence of life and the interaction between reality and imagination. Shah, a well-known artist for more than ten years, has experimented with new media, including large-scale installation art using metallic and acrylic plates covered in dexterous beading in a range of hues and textures.
“The universe is a truly fascinating and ever-expanding place. It is impossible to resist becoming fascinated by endless imagination. I have always been creative and dreamy, as my name, Kalpana, literally implies. This planet’s life is incredibly magical and full of surprises that are concealed within shapes, hues, dimensions, and unity. From a Hindu perspective, the universe offers intelligence and wisdom, brings profound knowledge, and brings about a change in one’s consciousness” said artist Kalpana Shah.
The exhibition will be on display until March 5, 2024.
