The first glimpse at Addatimes’ upcoming psychological drama series Basanta Eshe Gyachhe, which stars Arpan Ghosal, Sakshi Saha, and Swastika Dutta, is revealed.

The teacher’s character is portrayed by Arpan Ghoshal, the student is played by Sakshi Saha, and the teacher’s wife is played by Swastika Dutta.

The three main characters of Basanta Eshe Gyachhe are imprisoned in a romantic game. Teenage engineering student Tiyasha, portrayed by Sakshi Saha, leads a life that she defines for herself. She has a deep romantic attachment to her much older maths tutor, Nishan, played by Arpan Ghoshal. Happily married, Nishan is utterly devoted to his wife Chandrima, who is portrayed by Swastika Dutta. Their life changes when Nishan gets an anonymous love letter sent by Tiyasha.

“The biggest obstacle we faced in creating Basanta Eshe Gyachhe was learning to think like a teenager from this generation. Even when I was writing the script, I had to consider how a 19-year-old girl would behave, think, and feel, as they are so different from us. However, the most enjoyable aspect of creating this project was experimenting with two completely different emotions—the mature, old-fashioned love and the naive, young Alpha contemporary love—both of which were entwined in the story. Because each episode has a color name and a story that corresponds with that particular color, I played with colors a lot before Holi” said writer Sudeep Das, whose most recent endeavor was Preme Pora Baron.

“I’m happy to be working with Addatimes once more. A complicated love story with many facets to each character is Basanta Eshe Gyachhe” said director Abhimanyu Mukherjee.

“Working on Basanta Eshe Gyachhe has been an enriching experience. As an actor, I’ve been challenged by delving into the intricacies of relationships and the pursuit of authenticity in the face of uncertainty. The director’s technique is novel in that it permits in-depth character development and psychological investigation. I’m happy with Addatimes’ dedication to producing such thought-provoking content and appreciative of the chance to be a part of this fascinating endeavor. It has been a rewarding experience, and I can’t wait to tell audiences this gripping tale” said actor Arpan Ghoshal.

“This is my first project in partnership with Addatimes. Even though I have portrayed a housewife in various mediums throughout the years, I believe that Chandrima’s character in the series is the most challenging one I have ever performed in my 11-year career since she is so complicated. I hope I can do the character justice” said Swastika Dutta.

“Playing a 19-year-old female is exciting and a lot of fun. I previously passed this age, therefore it came to me naturally. I’m really enjoying it since the persona is allowing me to experience my age again” said Sakshi Saha.

The music of the film is by Savvy.

Basanta Eshe Gyachhe is slated to release on the 1st of May.
