Apeejay Bangla Sahitya Utsob and Chhayanat (Kolkata) organized a Nazrul Quiz at the Oxford Bookstore, Park Street, Kolkata.

It was conceptualized by Somerita Mallik, President of Chhayanat.

Debasish Sarkar was present as the Quizmaster.

Somerita, President of Chhayanat, said, ” We have never held a quiz on Nazrul like this one before. The youthful generation’s excitement truly overwhelms us. All of the participants in the quiz were extremely well-prepared. This is a unique effort on our part to raise public knowledge of Nazrul. Aside from the winners, we have provided Nazrul’s novels as an audience prize. We plan to pursue this endeavor once more in the future”.

In honor of the month of Kazi Nazrul Islam’s demise, a unique quiz tournament was held on the Life and Works of the Rebel Poet (Bidrohi Kobi).

Due to the high turnout, the quiz was split into two rounds: the preliminary round and the final round. Questions regarding audio and visuals were also included. Souvik Dhar won the competition, with Rishav Das and Sudipta Shankar Chatterjee coming in second and third, respectively.

Ahamed Hassan Imran, Chairman of West Bengal Minorities Commission and Editor of the newspaper Puber Kalom, the Deputy Director of Alipore Zoological Garden Piyali Chatterjee, Secretary of century-old Motilal Ghosh Library of Bhawanipur Sandip Dutta were present at the event. They gave away the prizes to the winners.

A great initiative indeed.
