The trailer launch for Sonar Kellay Jawker Dhan was organized recently.

It was graced by director Sayantan Ghosal, actors Koel Mallick, Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Gaurav Chakrabarty, Saheb Chatterjee, Suprobhat Das, and others.

This is the third film in the Jawker Dhan series.

In the movie, Koel Mallick will reprise his role as psychiatrist Dr. Ruby Chatterjee. This is a spin-off of Sonar Kella, the 1971 masterpiece by Satyajit Ray. Researchers Bimal and Kumar will be portrayed by Parambrata Chattopadhyay and Gaurav Chakrabarty, respectively.

Mukul, who is now an adult, will be portrayed by Suprobhat Das. As his memories of a past life return, Mukul sets out on a quest to locate the parashpathar, or philosopher’s stone, in the Golden Fort with the main trio of Ruby, Bimal, and Kumar.

Gaurav Chakrabarty said, “This is the first time I watched the trailer of this film. I am so happy and excited. I have worked with the director on quite a few films. I am a fan of the director’s work, and I am glad that I could be a part of this film”.

Jammy Banerjee will be seen in the role of the dacoit of Aravalli. “It is a big day for me to finally see the trailer of the film. To act in such a film and to shoot at such an iconic location was a memorable experience for me. I hope that the film is well-loved by the audience,” said the actor.

Koel Mallick said, “This is a special day for me. When I watched the first film of the series, I loved it. I did not think that I would be able to be a part of this franchise. This film evoked great nostalgia for me. We shot in high temperatures at Jaisalmer. But we had a great team, and that made the shoot easy”.

The director said that Jawker Dhan was his debut film, and the film was made on a small scale. He had never hoped that the film would be so loved, and he will be able to make two more films in the franchise. “I have aimed to make the scale and story better than the earlier film. It has nostalgia, action, and comedy. Hope the audience loves it,” said Sayantan.

Parambrata said, “I have known Sayantan since 2012. He approached me for a different film. In 2017, he approached me for Jawker Dhan. When the first film was finally released, Jab Harry Met Sejal was also released on the same date. We thought that the film would not do well as we clashed with a Shah Rukh Khan film. The Hindi film was not good, and it was then that our film started seeing more footfalls. Shows were increased, and we understood the potential of the franchise”.

The film will release on the 30^th of May.
