At a magnificent launch ceremony at Taj Taal Kutir in Kolkata, the Akhandakeshari Sarbojanin Durgotsab Committee unveiled its theme for 2025, “Shakti”, and its theme song, kicking off its 67th year celebrations in dramatic fashion. The event, which combined the strength of tradition with the energy of contemporary, served as the official countdown to Bengal’s most anticipated festival.

The evening was graced by Srabanti Chatterjee, Actress, Aditi Munshi, Singer & MLA, Tapash Chatterjee, MLA, and Pusan Gupta, Chairperson, Welfare Board NKDA–HIDCO.

The theme for this year, “Shakti”, embodies Maa Durga’s divine force as a beacon of light in the current digital era. Although there are many advantages to contemporary technology, there are drawbacks as well, such as anxiety, despair, and emotional emptiness in addition to digital addiction. The theme highlights how families are becoming more distant from one another and how genuine human ties are eroding in a society where virtual relationships predominate.

The Committee highlights the importance of rekindling wisdom, igniting hope, and restoring social equilibrium through “Shakti”. In order to ensure growth without becoming enslaved by technology, it invokes Maa Durga’s ability to guide young people back to nature, genuine connections, and thoughtful technology use. The concept seeks to promote empathy, consciousness, and a healthy mental future for the community.

The theme song is composed by Pandit Mallar Ghosh, Internationally Famous Rhythm Maestro & Music Composer, and penned by Mallika Ghosh, Eminent Reciter, Poet & Actress.

The song brilliantly conveys the spirit of devotion and unity while fusing modern ingenuity with traditional origins to create the perfect representation of Durga Puja.

As the theme was unveiled and the anthem was played live for the first time, a sizable crowd of community members, members of the media, and cultural lovers joined in the festivities at the big launch. Throughout the holiday season, the emotionally and energetically charged music will reverberate on pandals and playlists.

The Akhandakeshari Sarbojanin Durgotsab Committee has laid the groundwork for an incredibly amazing Durga Puja 2025, full of dedication, artistry, and camaraderie, with the announcement of the theme song and “Shakti”.
