Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla Inspires Students With His Great Words

With Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, a prominent Indian Air Force Test Pilot and ISRO Gaganyaan Astronaut, South City International School (SCIS) participated in the CISCE Inspire Series: 5th Edition, an incredible live webinar titled “Igniting Minds, Exploring Frontiers”.
The session turned out to be an enthralling journey of inspiration that transported the children into the infinite realm of creativity, exploration, and scientific awe. It was more than just an educational experience; it turned into an awakening adventure where young curiosity and the vastness of the cosmos collided.
Every listener found great resonance in Captain Shukla’s enlightening speech as he gave tidbits about his space training, his experiences, and the vast potential of the cosmos for both dreamers and doers. He described space as a world beyond the known, where well-known laws change, viewpoints broaden, and the enormity of life is felt deeply, rather than just as a physical border.
Additionally, he clarified the motionlessness of space by describing how even the most basic human activities—such as eating, sleeping, or moving—become completely different experiences in microgravity. From researching stem cells to comprehending muscle loss, he described how scientists carry out groundbreaking experiments in zero gravity—research that has enormous potential for life on Earth.
Group Captain Shukla’s reflection on the unity of humanity as seen from orbit was the most poignant. “There are no boundaries or divisions from space—just one planet, one home”, said Shukla. He felt amazement and humility as he watched India shine under the velvet darkness, reminding him that we are all inhabitants of the same planet.
As they listened to his stories and participated in an interactive Q&A session, the students were enthralled and asked incisive questions on India’s space objectives, sustainability in orbit, and the future Bharti Space Station. The conversations reaffirmed how crucial discipline, vision, and persistence are to making goals come true.
The webinar turned out to be much more than just an educational event; it was a catalyst for young people to dream big and strive for greatness.
