Project Shakti- A Special Mental Well-Being Workshop For Police

Monoshij, the mental health initiative founded by Prof. Manoshi Roy Chowdhary, Co-chairperson of Techno India Group, organized a special mental well-being workshop called Project Shakti – Fortifying The Force Through Psychological First Aid for Bidhannagar Police personnel at the Techno India campus in an effort to promote mental well-being and emotional preparedness among frontline responders from the Police Department.
The workshop was graced by esteemed guests, including Shri Ishan Sinha, IPS, Asst. Commissioner of Police, South Bidhannagar, Shri Ramnarayan Pal, IC, Electronics Complex, and Prof Manoshi Roy Chowdhury, Founder, Monoshij and Co-chairperson of Techno India Group.

Since police officers are sometimes the first to respond to crimes, accidents, and other mishaps, they frequently encounter trauma and mental suffering firsthand. Their mental health and capacity to assist others may suffer as a result of ongoing exposure to these situations. In order to address this issue, Monoshij created the Psychological First-Aid, which gives law enforcement officers useful tools for stress management, appropriate mental assistance for those in need, and emotional stability in dire circumstances. The program also showed how putting police departments’ mental health first can boost community ties, increase public trust, and foster a more compassionate style of policing.
Shri Ishan Sinha IPS, Asst. Commissioner of Police, South Bidhannagar, said, “Police mental health is a sensitive subject that most people are unaware of. Our workdays are insignificant. We are always on call. We are all aware of how demanding the work is. However, we occasionally seek out the affection and gratitude we receive. The public’s appreciation and regard for our police force are extremely valuable. Therefore, I would want to express my gratitude to Prof. Manoshi Roy Chowdhury and the entire Monoshij team for creating something so special and significant. To maximize output, mental well-being is a topic that requires lively discussion. Above all, it ought to be included in every curriculum”.

This cooperative endeavor between Monoshij and the Bidhannagar Police demonstrated a common goal of creating emotionally stable and psychologically aware public service systems, where mental health is recognized as an essential component of both community service and professional performance.
