With the introduction of its first-ever estate-exclusive single-origin coffees, which come from the Nullore, Margolly, and Karadibetta Estates of Coorg, Karnataka, Tata Starbucks is honoring India’s rich coffee history. This new line pulls the attention even closer to the land and the people behind each bean, building on the popularity of the India Estates Blend, which initially highlighted the nation’s coffee origins. With this promotion, Starbucks raises awareness of India’s coffee-growing regions and the generations of farmers whose skill and attention to detail go into making each cup. “This coffee is our legacy – I warmly welcome you to experience it in your cup,” one estate manager writes on the coffee bag.

This carefully chosen trio, which joins Starbucks’ renowned portfolio from coffee-growing countries of Africa, Asia Pacific, and Latin America, highlights the company’s dedication to promoting India’s own specialty coffee estates while exhibiting the world’s most unique coffees.

The Nullore, Margolly, and Karadibetta estates, which are located in the center of Coorg’s coffee belt, each represent a distinctive history of skill, biodiversity, and care that has been passed down through the years.

India Nullore Estate: This Arabica coffee, which is grown at an elevation of 910 meters above sea level, has a medium-light body, medium-high acidity, sweet lemon acidity, and taste notes of nutty sesame blossom and red apple, resulting in a well-balanced but lively cup. The estate, which is a model of circular farming, is tucked away in the mist-covered hills of Madikeri. Under a two-tier canopy of native trees, nature nurtures every bean.

India Margolly Estate: Located amid the rolling hills of southern Coorg, Margolly Estate has origins that trace back to the 1850s. This washed Arabica, which was grown at an elevation of 980 meters above sea level, has notes of Barhi date and cinnamon bark, with a finish of forest honey. The estate produces beans with a clear taste, balanced acidity, and unique character because to its deep canopy, flourishing pepper vines, and rainfall gathering techniques, which mimic the chilly, damp conditions of evergreen forests.

India Karadibetta Estate: High-altitude Arabica with flavors of jamun plum, ginger, and sweet tulsi herbal is produced at Karadibetta Estate, which is situated 1000 meters above sea level. Its medium body and strong acidity produce a complex, fragrant profile that captures the rich topography and wildlife of Coorg’s highlands.

Each package has been carefully designed with illustrations that celebrate the wildlife, biodiversity, and ethical sourcing practices that define these estates and the communities that support them, from the Grey Hornbill of Nullore, a natural seed-sower of Coorg’s forests, to roving elephants through Margolly’s lush pepper trails and the vivid flora of Karadibetta’s highlands.

A 150g packet of the Starbucks Indian Single-Origin Whole Bean Coffees—Nullore Estate, Margolly Estate, and Karadibetta Estate—will retail for Rs 495 at a few Starbucks locations in India.
