An Exciting Stage Drama On Jute By Nandikar

The stage drama “From Eight to Eighty, We Love Jute” was successfully presented at the SBI Auditorium, Kolkata Book Fair, thanks to the National Jute Board’s effort. It attracted an interested audience.
The ceremony was hosted by Shri Kishan Singh Ghughtyal, HOD, Joint Director, Market Promotion & Scheme Implementation.
The drama told the touching tale of four friends—Piyasha, Abir, Srijan, and Bibhan—who, after a protracted absence, meet in the famous Book Fair grounds. The story, which was set against a backdrop of literature, shared experiences, and nostalgia, gradually developed into a contemplative analysis of sustainable living and environmental responsibility.
The production emphasized jute as a reliable and environmentally beneficial substitute for plastic through captivating performances and moving narrative, highlighting the critical need to adopt sustainable choices in daily life. With the entire ensemble joining together in song to give a potent message of enduring friendship and environmental consciousness, the performance ended on a high note.

Presented by Nandikar, the play was written by Ishita Sarkar and directed by Arghya De Sarkar.
The cast of the play consists of Anindita Chakraborty, Arghya De Sarkar, Somesh Saha, and Rishabh Mukhopadhyay, with Saptarshi Maulik gracing the event as Special Guest.
Audiences and book fair attendees responded favorably to the event’s socially relevant theme and captivating presentation.
