Many short films struggle to reach audiences after their festival journey is over, despite the fact that they frequently start with sleepless nights and unrelenting effort. Before they vanish into digital archives, they frequently only have a few online shares.

ShortFlicks Entertainment is introducing a new project called “ShortFlicks – Screen & Speak | Edition I” in response to this gap. The platform seeks to establish a venue where independent filmmakers can interact directly with viewers and present their work on the big screen.

ShortFlicks Entertainment previously launched a special YouTube channel, @IKSFF-ShortFlicks, to assist independent filmmakers and expand the digital audience for their movies. With several films receiving praise and viewership, the channel has progressively developed into a supportive platform for creators. Additionally, the project uses a revenue-sharing model that gives filmmakers a portion of the money made from their work.

In keeping with this endeavor, “ShortFlicks – Screen & Speak” will offer carefully chosen short film and music video screenings in addition to media engagement, filmmaker interactions, behind-the-scenes discussions, and PR assistance for participating creators.

ShortFlicks Entertainment, in collaboration with the International Kolkata Short Film Festival (IKSFF), will host the first edition on April 10, 2026.

Crucially, there is no competition on the platform. There won’t be any trophies or awards. Rather, the project seeks to establish a significant exhibition area where filmmakers can showcase their work, engage with audiences, and talk about the narratives behind their movies.

Additionally, the organizers have confirmed that a number of other promising films are presently being considered.

With free admission, moviegoers are encouraged to bring friends and family and watch short films together in a theatrical setting.

Sourav Chakraborty, the initiative’s organizer, said “It takes a great deal of commitment, time, and passion to make a short film. Our goal is to make sure that these movies are seen by the people they genuinely deserve”.

The organizers of “ShortFlicks Screen & Speak” intend to establish a new venue where independent films can find their audience and be given the screen time they deserve.
