In keeping with its long-standing dedication to sustainability and environmental stewardship, Mother Dairy, India’s most popular milk and milk products company and a fully owned subsidiary of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), unveiled India’s FIRST naturally degradable milk pouch in soil. Starting on World Environment Day (June 5, 2026), the company has launched this packaging innovation in Delhi NCR with its renowned Cow Milk variant, which also has a redesigned pack.

The novel degradable packaging technology used in Mother Dairy‘s new milk pouch allows the material to change into bioavailable wax, which is then naturally broken down into natural elements by microbes found in the soil.

With no modifications needed to how customers handle, store, or discard the milk pouch, this packaging innovation has been created to guarantee a flawless customer experience. Crucially, the milk’s quality, shelf life, and flavor won’t be affected by the new packaging, and it will still provide the same reliable goodness that customers have come to associate with Mother Dairy.

Mother Dairy is launching a new design language for its milk line in addition to this ground-breaking packaging innovation. The Note of Care, a unique brand device inspired by the brand’s iconic logo, is at the center of the packaging refresh, which starts with Mother Dairy’s well-known Cow Milk variant. It brings to life the promise of Maa Jaisi care through relatable everyday expressions, such as a gentle nudge to get home safe or a reminder to drink your milk, in a fun, fresh, and contemporary manner, reflecting Mother Dairy’s warmth and affection.

Cleaner typography and brighter visual tones are added to the updated packaging design to complement the holding structure and create a more contemporary and unified brand identity. In the future, the new design system will improve recall and brand equity by unifying the brand’s whole milk portfolio under a unified “Mother Dairy” aesthetic.
