A Great Celebration Of Academic Excellence At The Annual Prize Distribution

South Point School and South Point High School celebrated academic excellence, talent, and holistic development at their Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony, which brought together students, parents, teachers, alumni, and distinguished guests for an evening that recognized outstanding achievements while reaffirming the institutions’ commitment to developing well-rounded individuals.

Dr. Indranil Khan, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for the Departments of Youth Services & Sports and Consumer Affairs, and a distinguished South Point alumnus, attended the ceremony and addressed the audience before presenting awards to deserving students.

The Invocatory Song and the School Song kicked off the program. Dalbir Kaur Chadda, the principal of South Point School, then gave the Welcome Address, highlighting the institutional, co-curricular, and academic accomplishments of South Point School and South Point High School over the previous academic year. Jaidev Ghosh, the principal of South Point High School, congratulated the recipients of the awards alongside A. C. Chakraborty and Rupa Sanyal Bhattacherjee, directors of the South Point Education Society, and S. K. Daga, trustees and governing council.

Class toppers and students who placed in the top ten received prizes for their outstanding academic achievement. Students from Classes II through XII were recognized for their achievements. Notable honors were also given out, such as the M. P. Birla Special Talent Award, the Award for Excellence in Co-curricular Activities, and the M. P. Birla Smarak Kosh Founder’s Medal for Best All-Rounder. During the event, house prizes and awards were given to the winners of the interschool Kalakosh competitions run by M. P. Birla Smarak Kosh.

South-Point-School

Dumdum Park Tarun Sangha received the Puja with a Heart Award in recognition of their ongoing social service efforts.

Students from both schools presented unique cultural productions in the second part of the evening. Aladdin from South Point School used dance, music, and theater to take the audience to a fantastical world while honoring bravery, compassion, and hope. With a strong message on imagination, creativity, and meaningful learning, South Point High School’s Lost Pages examined the growing reliance on digital screens while inspiring kids to rediscover the timeless joy of reading through cherished comic characters.
